St. Clare's Hospital Official LogoThank you for your interest in St. Clare’s Hospital. As you may know, health care in Schenectady is undergoing unprecedented change, driven by New York State mandated reform efforts.

Since the state’s so-called "Berger law" took effect in January 2007, Ellis Hospital has agreed to assume responsibility for the programs and services of the former Bellevue Woman’s Hospital and, most recently, those of the former St. Clare’s Hospital. As a result, the same full range of services continues to be offered right here in Schenectady, provided by the same experts you have come to know and trust.

Whether it’s welcoming a baby into the world, performing advanced cardiac surgery, treating a stroke patient, providing mental health services to a troubled teen, or caring for an elderly loved one, Ellis is the place thousands of families across the Capital Region turn to for quality health care.

Please visit the Ellis Hospital website (see link below) to find information about the services we offer on our three campuses - the Ellis Campus, McClellan Campus (former St. Clare’s campus), and the Bellevue Woman’s Care Center. We will be making a number of changes over the next few years that will help us to improve the way we deliver care to you, so please visit our website from time to time for updates.

Thank you for your patience as we work to create a stronger, more efficient and high quality health care delivery system for our community. We hope that you and your family will count on us for your health care needs. You can be assured that we will do our best to get you better and back to the things you value most in life.
