St. Clare's Hospital Foundation

In 1981, the St. Clare’s Hospital Board of Trustees authorized the establishment of a charitable foundation who express purpose was to raise, invest and disburse funds on behalf of the hospital and its healing mission.

Named, the St. Clare’s Hospital Foundation of Schenectady, NY, Inc., it is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt, nonprofit, publicly supported entity. Gifts to the foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

General oversight of foundation activities and related business affairs is the responsibility of the board of directors - a diverse group of community volunteers whose involvement helps to facilitate charitable support of St. Clare’s Hospital.

For more than a quarter century, the foundation has played an important role in helping to fund essential projects, services and technologies. Throughout the year, there are a variety of fundraising events that engage the community at large, as well as ongoing programs for philanthropy including memorial and tribute gifts, estate planning and naming opportunities.
