The St. Clare's Hospital Family Health Center is located in the adjoining Cushing Center. It features 26 examination rooms, special procedure rooms, conference and precepting areas, faculty offices, laboratory, resident offices, and waiting, reception and business areas. The center’s staff includes physician assistants, nurse practitioner, nurses, nursing technicians, medical secretaries and clerical personnel.

The FHC registers more than 30,000 patient visits annually. Home visits by the residents are arranged and supervised by faculty. We also have privileges to manage nursing home patients during their hospital stay.

Patient records are maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations and are moving towards an EMR system in compliance with the recommendations of ACGME.

Behavioral Science group meetings are held regularly with a faculty psychologist focusing on professional and personal situations encountered by the residents, their families and significant others.

A Practice Management consultant is available through the center to acquaint residents with financial, staffing and business related information and to assist in the transition to private practice after graduation.
