St. Clare's Hospital Online Privacy Policy

Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on all our main pages and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the St. Clare's Hospital website. On some pages, you can request information, register for events, send patient greetings and make donations to St. Clare's Hospital Foundation. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:

    Name
    Address
    Email address
    Phone number
    Credit Card Information
    (etc.)

On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if you make a contribution online and want a card sent directly to the recipient of your tribute, sympathy, honor, etc., you will need to submit the recipient's address. In this circumstance, the types of personal information collected are:

    Name

    (etc.)

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you provide about yourself when a transaction needs to be completed (online donations - credit card processing, event registering - credit card processing).  We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that transaction.

We use the information you provide about someone else when we mail cards to the recipient of your tribute, sympathy, honor, etc. (only if requested by the donor). We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to process the mailing.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Our Commitment To Children's Privacy

Consistent with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

Usage Tracking

We track user traffic patterns throughout our site. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. We do break down overall usage statistics according to a user's domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user's browser).

We use tracking information to determine which areas of our site users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.

Cookies

We may place a text file called a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer. The cookie itself does not contain personal information, although, it will enable us to relate your use of this site to information that you have specifically and knowingly provided. The only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. We use cookies to track user traffic patterns (as described above).

You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. If you've set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use this site.
